RoofStruct vs RoofOrders for contractors who order roof reports

RoofOrders draws roof reports for you and bills each one. RoofStruct sells done-for-you reports too, and every account gets free, unlimited self-serve measuring and PDF reports, no card.

The short answer

  • RoofOrders sells roof reports it draws for you, billed per report, with a higher price for commercial roofs (RoofOrders pricing page, Oct 2026).
  • Each RoofOrders roof report lists a PDF, an Excel file, a DXF model of the roof and an XML file that its FAQ says loads into Symbility and AccuLynx.
  • RoofOrders aims to deliver overnight, with the email typically by 6 AM EST. RoofStruct’s done-for-you reports are usually delivered within 4 hours (turnaround can vary with volume and complexity).
  • On RoofStruct you can also measure the roof yourself, free and unlimited, and export the PDF with no per-report fee.

How they differ

RoofOrders is an ordered-report company. You send an address or coordinates, and it sends back a finished roof report. Its pages say it interprets aerial images from multiple sources and draws the roof plan from a model of the roof (RoofOrders roof report page, Oct 2026).

RoofStruct gives you two ways to get the numbers. Measure it yourself on satellite imagery or your own drone or phone photo, in minutes on a simple roof, and export the full PDF with RoofStruct branding. Or order a done-for-you report: a technician measures the roof and a second one checks it.

On Pro, the same measurement feeds branded Good / Better / Best estimates with e-signature and the Material Order Builder with Smart Waste, so you don’t re-key the numbers.

How each one prices

RoofOrders bills each report, with one price for a residential roof and a higher one for a commercial building. Obstructions and penetrations cost extra, and so does its Xactimate ESX service. Secondary structures are an option on residential roof reports (RoofOrders pricing page, Oct 2026).

RoofStruct bills done-for-you reports per report too, with a lower price on Pro. Measuring the roof yourself and exporting the PDF costs nothing, however many roofs you trace.

Dated prices for both are in our roof measurement report cost guide, linked below. Price the report you would actually order, add-ons included, and multiply by the roofs you bid, not only the ones you win.

Where RoofOrders is the better pick

If your files drive the decision, RoofOrders may settle it. It lists an XML file that its FAQ says loads into Symbility and AccuLynx, and a DXF model of the roof for AutoCAD or similar drawing programs. RoofStruct doesn’t list an XML file.

RoofOrders also sells wall elevation reports and solar reports with insolation maps. RoofStruct doesn’t offer either.

If you order in the afternoon and quote the next morning, an overnight report with an early email fits that rhythm. For faster jobs, RoofOrders lists an expedite option that targets 5 hours, with the expedite charge credited back if it misses (RoofOrders FAQ, Oct 2026).

Using both, or switching

You don’t have to choose one for every job. One way to split it: trace most bids yourself for free, then order a report on the jobs you win or the roofs you’d rather not trace, such as steep, cut-up roofs under heavy tree cover.

Before you switch, list every program that reads your reports, from claims software to drawing programs to your estimating sheet, and confirm it accepts the new files. If a program needs RoofOrders’ XML file, keep ordering that report for those jobs.

A self-serve trace is your own measurement. When an adjuster or a dispute calls for a report someone else drew, order one.

Which one fits

Choose RoofOrders if…

  • You need an XML file for Symbility or AccuLynx, or a DXF roof model for drawing work.
  • You also order wall elevation or solar reports.
  • An overnight turnaround fits how you quote.

Choose RoofStruct if…

  • You bid a lot and want to measure most roofs yourself, free.
  • You want done-for-you reports usually back within about 4 hours.
  • You want estimates and material orders from the same measurement on Pro.
