RoofStruct vs EagleView: measure it yourself or order the report

EagleView sells delivered aerial reports, with ESX files for Xactimate. RoofStruct lets you trace the roof yourself, for free, and keep going to the estimate. Contractors who bid retail and work claims can use both.

The short answer

  • EagleView bills each report, with a lighter bid-stage report called Bid Perfect and an Eagleview One subscription platform (per EagleView, Oct 2026).
  • RoofStruct is free, unlimited self-serve measuring and PDF reports, no card, on satellite imagery or your own drone or phone photo, in minutes.
  • For insurance claims filed in Xactimate, or when a carrier asks for an EagleView report by name, keep EagleView.
  • For everyday retail bids, measuring the roof yourself means you pay nothing per report for the roofs you don’t win.

How they differ

EagleView captures its own aerial imagery and turns it into measurement reports that come with ESX files for Xactimate. In a February 2025 announcement, the company says it supports 24 of the top 25 U.S. insurers. It reports 98.77% accuracy on roof lines in a June 2025 study EagleView commissioned from surveying firm CompassData.

RoofStruct works the other way around. You pull up the address on satellite imagery, or upload your own drone or phone photo, trace the facets, label the edges and set the pitch. The Cost & Takeoff worksheet and water-flow analysis come on every plan, and the full PDF carries RoofStruct branding on Free.

We haven’t run a side-by-side accuracy test, so we don’t claim one. Satellite and aerial imagery, any vendor’s, can misread pitch on a cut-up roof or hide slopes under trees. That is a limit of the technology. Check pitch on site when the picture is doubtful.

How each one prices

EagleView bills each report, priced by roof size and pricing tier. Its pricing page says Silver, Gold and Platinum pricing comes through a sales rep, partners, distributors, volume or prepay plans. For bids, it also sells Bid Perfect, a lighter report billed per report. Eagleview One is a subscription platform with no public price on the pages we checked (Oct 2026).

RoofStruct’s free plan has no per-report fee for measuring you do yourself or for the PDF. Pro is a monthly subscription that adds branded Good / Better / Best estimates with e-signature, the Material Order Builder with Smart Waste, CSV, XLSX, JSON and DXF exports, your logo and colors, and up to 5 team members. Done-for-you reports and ESX sketches are separate paid orders.

We keep the dated EagleView prices in one place, our EagleView vs Roofr vs GAF QuickMeasure comparison, so they stay current. Run them against your own bid-to-close ratio: every roof you quote and lose is a report you paid for.

Where EagleView is the better pick

If you file or supplement insurance claims, EagleView’s delivered report and its ESX file for Xactimate are built for that work. When an adjuster or carrier asks for an EagleView report by name, your own trace is not a substitute.

It also fits when you want a third-party report someone else measured, from aerial imagery EagleView captures itself, or when your volume earns you a better pricing tier. RoofStruct’s done-for-you report is first-party: our own technicians measure and check it.

Using both

You don’t have to drop anything. Tag each job: claim or supplement goes to EagleView; retail cash or finance work gets measured in RoofStruct.

On a retail job, trace the roof, read the squares and waste, and on Pro send the Good / Better / Best estimate for e-signature and build the material order from the same measurement. When a claim shows up and you need a sketch, you can order an ESX sketch from RoofStruct, geometry only, opened in your own Xactimate. RoofStruct isn’t affiliated with Verisk.

Which one fits your next roof

  • You file insurance claims in Xactimate and want EagleView’s ESX file in the claim.
  • A carrier or adjuster asks for an EagleView report by name.
  • You want a delivered third-party report and a per-report cost fits the job.

Choose RoofStruct if…

  • You bid many retail roofs and want to measure them yourself, free, with no card.
  • You want the estimate, e-signature and material order from the same measurement (Pro).
  • You want a done-for-you report or an ESX sketch only on the jobs that need one.

RoofStruct vs EagleView: common questions

Is RoofStruct as accurate as EagleView?
We haven’t run a side-by-side test, so we can’t say. EagleView publishes a June 2025 study it commissioned from CompassData, reporting 98.77% on roof lines. RoofStruct isn’t positioned as an insurance-grade report. Order EagleView when a carrier or adjuster needs one.
Does RoofStruct charge per report?
Not for measuring you do yourself or for the PDF, on any plan, including Free. Done-for-you reports, measured by a technician and checked by a second one, are a separate paid order, usually delivered within 4 hours. Turnaround varies with volume and complexity.
Can RoofStruct give me an ESX file for Xactimate?
Self-serve projects don’t export ESX, but you can order an ESX sketch. It’s geometry only, with no line items or prices, and you open it in your own Xactimate. RoofStruct isn’t affiliated with Verisk, the maker of Xactimate.
Can I keep EagleView for insurance work?
Yes. Many contractors keep EagleView for claims and measure retail bids themselves. RoofStruct’s done-for-you report is measured by our own technicians, so it isn’t a third-party report.
Where are the EagleView prices?
In our EagleView vs Roofr vs GAF QuickMeasure comparison, dated October 2026. Prices change often, so check EagleView’s pricing page before you order.
